EasyEnglish ("the App") is committed to transparency and user privacy. This policy explains how data is handled within our Progressive Web Application.
AI Data Processing Disclosure:
Text submitted for translation is processed via the Google Gemini API. As per the provider's terms for the free tier, data submitted may be used by Google to improve their AI models and services. Users requiring total privacy should refer to Google's Enterprise privacy terms.
1. Data Collection & Storage
We believe in "Privacy by Design." EasyEnglish does not operate a central database. All translation history and settings are stored locally on your device using browser storage (LocalStorage). We do not have access to your translations.
2. Third-Party Services
Our app integrates with the following third-party provider:
Google Gemini API: Processes the text for translation. Their privacy policy governs the data once it reaches their servers.
3. Permissions
The App may request the following permissions:
Camera: Used only when you select the "Scan" feature to capture text from physical documents. Images are processed and then discarded; they are never uploaded to our servers.
Storage: Used to save your translation history on your device so you can access it offline.
4. Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you are in full control of deleting it at any time. There are two ways to delete your data:
Within the app: Open the app, go to the History tab, and use the "Clear All History" button to permanently delete all saved translations from your device.
Through your device settings: On Android, go to Settings → Apps → EasyEnglish → Storage → Clear Data. This will wipe all locally stored data including translation history and app settings.
Because we do not store any of your data on our servers, deletion is immediate and complete once you clear your local storage. There is no additional request needed on your part — no forms, no waiting period.
Note on Google Gemini:
Text you submit for translation is sent to the Google Gemini API for processing. We do not retain this data on our end. For requests to delete data that may have been retained by Google, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy and their data deletion tools.
5. Children's Privacy
Our app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. All processing happens via the AI API or locally on the user's device.
